What Is THTC
The Turkish Healthcare Travel Council, or the THTC, was established in 2005 with the aim of developing international medical tourism to Turkey and assisting foreign patients. We are an official association to Turkish healthcare facilities and medical travel service providers. We operate as a non-profit organisation under Turkish Association Law and we’re supported by the Turkish Government.
With 168 network offices in 92 countries, we have now grown into the largest health tourism organisation in the world. Turkey has invested significantly in the development and implementation of state-of-the-art medical and wellness technology, and has more than 15,000 doctors and surgeons who trained in the West.
We opened THTC offices worldwide for a number of reasons:
Providing patients with more options if treatment in their own countries aren’t state-of-the-art or advanced;
To give patients more choice if treatment in their home country is too expensive;
As Turkey is a very popular tourist destination, patients could potentially combine their treatment with a relaxing holiday.
We are also happy to help those seeking a 2nd opinion or those interested in receiving well-being treatment at Turkish resorts. We work with 375 general hospitals, specialised clinics, cosmetic and dental surgeries and wellness centres. This enables us to match you to the most appropriate and highly qualified doctor or state-of-the-art private hospital, Public Private Partnership (PPP) hospital or other healthcare facility in Turkey. The matching process might take from 1 to 7 working days, depending on the case complexity.
